Finalists Competed To Be Crowned As The Winner Of Miss Astro Chinese
International Pageant 2015!
What is beauty? In its 18th year
and at a time when society’s perception of beauty is diverse, Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant
(MACIP) 2015 establishes that beauty comprises of three main key
attributes, namely Intelligence,
Appearance and Personality!
During the finale, it wasa once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity for one of the ten beautiful hopefuls to be crowned as Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant
2015.
The top 10 finalists this year include Lim Siok Yee (23, Kedah), Tebby Tun (20, Selangor), Yuth Gan (22, Selangor), Janice Choong (24 Selangor), Jany Lee (22, Selangor), Kathryn Gwee (25, Johor), Tan Suk Nee (21, Selangor), Gisele Lee (22, Perak), Jane Tan (23, KL) and Winnie Yip (20,
Perak).
Professional
Judge Panelists and Hosts Emcees! Past Years Host Jack Lim Finally Became One
Of The Judge Panelist!
The beauty pageant this time was hosted by pageant
alumni Vivienne Oon and MY FM radio announcer Royce Tan. On the other hand, the judge
panelists this time consist of six members from various professional aspects,
including TV and radio personality Angel
Wong and Jack Lim, former
model-turned-businesswoman Soong Ai Ling,
international top model Amber Chia,
international fashion designer Khoon
Hooi and Founder and CEO of Adonis investment Holdings, Ann Lee!
This year Jack Lim has played a different role compared to his annual role as
the emcee. He finally became the judge panel for the pageant. He mentioned
during post-event interview that in the previous years, all of his favorite
candidate ended up not being the winner or top 3 of the pageant. This year, he
finally has the chance to make a decisive vote for his favorite candidate.
Kicking Off
The Show With Talent Showcase!
In contrary to the annual talent show
segment, this year, the pageant has made the talent showcase as the opening of
the beauty pageant. Although the duration of talent display by each beauty is
lesser than in the previous years, their performances nonetheless were able to
impress the audiences. Some of them played musical instruments such as piano,
guzheng while some of them sang and danced. Some of the contestants even show
off their skills in illusion and magic tricks.
The Catwalk
Segments!
This is a segment which shouldn’t be missed out in a beauty pageant. All of the contestants have displayed wonderful and elegant catwalk during this session. It was obvious that their efforts did pay off. One of the contestant accidentally slipped down but yet was able to stand still confidently and continued her catwalk. It deserved an applause!

Performance
by Uriah, Daniel Sher and violinist Josh Kua!
Besides the glamour and glitz of the pageant,
there were also performances by Astro
Star Quest 2014 champion, Uriah See and 2015 first runner up Daniel
Sher. They sang a few songs in between the catwalk segments and added some
spice to the pageant show.
Apart from that, violinist and model from
Melbourne, Josh Kua also delivered
an exciting violin performances during the pageant.
Swimsuit and
Cheongsam (qipao) segments!
Some of the most awaited sessions during the
pageant was during the swimsuit segment and the Qipao segment. Both these
segments can display the perfect bodylines of the contestants.
The Battle
Of The Wits!
Intelligence has played a very crucial role
in this beauty pageant. There were two Q&A
sessions during the beauty pageant. The first session was held for the top
10 finalists with different questions. Some of the funny question include, “who
would remind you of Musang King”, “if you have a boyfriend who has cheated you
with your sister, what should do?”, “how do you confess your feeling to your
crush” and etc.
These questions required certain amount of
mental sharpness to deliver an answer which can impress the audiences and the
judges. Although, some didn’t perform that well during this session, some of
the answers were really creative.
The last Q&A
session was held for the top 5 finalists and the question is about “how do
you define beauty?”. It was the final segment and it was a really decisive
moments for the finalists.
Janice
Crowned As The Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant 2015!
After a long journey of competition, Janice was crowned as the Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant
2015. She has displayed all the three key attributes – Intelligence,
Appearance and Personality very well. A well-deserved winner!
As the champion, she could walk away with
prizes worth a total of RM 196,647, including
a Mazda 3 car and RM 30,000 cash.
