[Upcoming Event] Brahms Violin Concerto by The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra
The programme
will begin with Brahms' Violin Concerto in D and end with Mozart's
Symphony No. 41 in C. Both works are written for similar, modern-sized
orchestras and are considered to be the pinnacle of their genre.
MPO
Concertmaster Peter Dani will
perform Brahms' concerto, which was written in 1878 in Vienna and
dedicated to two Hungarian violinists who played important roles in the
composer's life. This concerto is now considered one of the greatest concertos
ever written.

Mozart's
Symphony No.41 is the
pinnacle of symphonic craftmanship fused with artistic inspiration, eliciting
the most eloquent praise and poetic expression. It was written in 1788 and was
given the nickname 'Jupiter' because it evoked images of Olympian pomp,
nobility, grandeur, and perfect mastery.
Stanislav
Kochanovsky, the
Russian maestro, returns to the MPO after his last appearance on the DFP podium
in 2019. He is regarded as one of today's most promising conductors, having
made successful debuts with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Wiener
Symphoniker, among others. He is regularly invited by renowned orchestras and
opera houses in Italy, London, Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Oslo, as well as
frequent collaborations with the Moscow and St. Petersburg Philharmonic
orchestras, due to his extensive knowledge and experience of a wide range of
symphonic and operatic repertoire.
