《Astro经典名曲歌唱大赛2023》”Astro Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition 2023” draws a large number of enthusiastic sign-ups from singers aged 35 and up.

 

Kuala Lumpur, 2023 - 《Astro经典名曲歌唱大赛2023》”Astro Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition 2023”which held its first live open audition after a three-year hiatus, drew a large number of singing enthusiasts aged 35 and above from all over Malaysia on the first day. Yenz郭燕燕 described the contestants as eager to release their pent-up energy, and they eagerly signed up. The first audition day lasted until 11 p.m.! Furthermore, Jess Teong张爵西was invited to cross boundaries and serve as the program's producer. To prepare for the new challenge, she said she listens to classic songs every day and does her homework!

 

According to Yenz郭燕燕 , lowering the age limit for participation will allow players of various ages to collide and inspire more experienced players to improve their skills. "One participant in their 70s stated explicitly that their motivation for participating is to challenge younger players!" We believe that songs or singers from various eras all have value, and we will be inclusive in providing opportunities for various types of participants to showcase their singing abilities!"

 

The " Astro Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition 2023" programme group invited Jess Teong张爵西to cross boundaries and serve as producer. She stated that producing the show is a completely new experience for her. She has insisted on listening to many classic songs every day and conducting extensive research to prepare for the new challenge! She also shared a conversation with her son, admitting that her son fully supports her role as "Classic" producer and encourages her by saying, "Classic songs sing about life and stories." She also stated that the contestants, regardless of their age, will all exude their own charm and flavour.

 

Yise Loo 罗忆诗, who is serving as a classic judge for the first time, joked that she found her "classic soul" during the process. She is well-versed in the majority of the contestants' song choices, and her mind is filled with classics. The long-awaited open audition activity has revitalised her! She expressed her excitement about the new look of the "" Astro Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition 2023" especially with Jess Teong张爵西, who is skilled at visual storytelling, in charge of production. This competition, she believes, will be very exciting! She also revealed that one of the contestants who most impressed her was a performer who sang and danced, and their enthusiasm was such that they seemed ready to jump onto the judging panel at any moment, which amazed her. When asked about the different age groups' scoring criteria, she stated, "Regardless of the age of the contestants, singing skills cannot deceive people."

 

This year's contestants include some well-known names. Kenny 吴建亿, the 2003 "Astro Star Quest" winner, for example, surprised the judges when he appeared to sign up. He expressed his feelings, saying that chasing dreams alone has been lonely for many years. He hesitated but decided to bravely step out of his comfort zone this time, taking advantage of the relaxed age limit for participation. He longs to relive the feeling of chasing dreams he had twenty years ago! Other notable candidates included Eazy Tan 陈泳錥, Bryan张驻森, 林虹 and etc.

 

张惠詠 (51 years old) is a determined dream chaser who faces physical challenges but came to audition in a wheelchair. He expressed his desire to motivate himself and even inspire other singers to pursue their dreams! Following two days of auditions, some contestants displayed their meticulous preparations through their appearance and attire, while others, interestingly, arrived in casual sportswear. Yenz 郭燕燕 stated that opportunities are available to those who are prepared, and that these details will be displayed on stage and considered in the scoring criteria.

 

The number of registrations on the first day surpassed 300, with 40% of them being younger participants (aged 35 to 44). Many of them came from other states and even East Malaysia, each showcasing their singing abilities with a variety of "weapons."

 

Some people were good at singing and dancing, while others were good at playing musical instruments. The entire audition event was a showcase of various talents, each with their own set of strengths! 张文耀also revealed that the contest will have a new competition format and judging lineup this year.

 

Starting with the audition stage, several new faces have been invited to join the audition judging panel, including vocal mentor Winnie 何芸妮, local singing livestream queen Angeline 张水蓉, singer Bell and Yise Loo, in addition to the classic judges 郑国亮 and周博华.

 

Bell who is also serving as a classic judge for the first time, stated that while some contestants appeared nervous, they gave it their all to present themselves. She also thought that this was a good time for them to break through

 

The auditions for the "Astro Classic Song Singing Contest 2023" took place over two days at the Pullman KLCC Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

《Astro经典名曲歌唱大赛2023》节目组邀请张爵西跨界担任制作人，她表示制作节目对她来说是一个全新的领域，自接手以来就坚持每天听很多经典歌曲，做足功课，以迎接这个全新的挑战！她还分享了和儿子的对话，坦言儿子非常支持她担任《经典》的制作人，并鼓励她说“经典名曲唱的是人生和故事”。她也表示无论选手的年龄如何，都会展现各自独特的魅力和风采。

 

罗忆诗第一次担任经典评审，开心地表示在这个过程中她发现了自己拥有“经典魂”。她对大多数参赛者的选曲都非常熟悉，脑海里的歌单几乎都是经典歌曲，而久违的公开试音活动让她感到非常新鲜！她表示对于全新面貌的《Astro经典名曲歌唱大赛》非常期待，尤其是有擅长以影像讲述故事的张爵西跨界参与制作，她相信这次比赛一定会非常精彩！她还透露在参赛者中，有一位呈献唱跳表演的选手给她留下了深刻的印象，对方的积极性就像随时准备跳上评审席一样，让她大开眼界。当被问及对不同年龄层选手的评分标准时，她表示：“不管选手年纪多大，唱歌的功底是无法欺骗的。”

今年的参赛者中也有一些来头不小的选手。例如，2003年《Astro新秀大赛》的冠军吴建亿的出现让评审们感到惊喜。他感慨道，多年来一个人追梦的感觉很孤独，趁着今年参赛年龄放宽的机会，他犹豫了一下后决定勇敢地走出舒适区，他非常想找回二十年前追梦时的感受！此外，还有《Astro欢喜来卡拉2016》的亚军陈泳錥，还有被誉为“北马歌王”的张驻森（37岁），他们带着母亲林虹（66岁）一起来参加试音。当评审得知两者的关系时，开玩笑地说：“原来好歌喉是遗传来的。”另外，还有行动不便却非常勇敢追梦的选手张惠詠（51岁），她坐在轮椅上前来试音。她表示希望能够激励自己，甚至鼓舞其他热爱唱歌的人，不要放弃追梦！经历了两天的试音活动，有些选手从外表装扮就展现出他们充分准备的状态，有趣的是其中还有一些随性穿着运动服的选手前来试音。对此，郭燕燕表示机会是给有准备的人的，这些都是在舞台上展示的细节，也会成为评分的考量之一。

 

据节目监制张文耀透露，第一天的报名人数已经超过了300人，其中四成是介于35岁至44岁之间的较年轻选手。他们中间不乏来自外州甚至东马的参赛者，带着各种才艺和技能来展示自己的歌唱实力。有些人唱歌和跳舞都很出色，还有些人擅长乐器演奏。整个试音活动可以说是百花齐放，每个人都有自己的优势！张文耀还透露，今年的《Astro经典名曲歌唱大赛》将迎来全新的赛制和评审阵容。除了经典评审郑国亮和周博华之外，还邀请了多位新面孔参与，其中包括多次担任经典歌唱班导师的何芸妮、本地歌唱直播天后张水蓉、歌手Bell傅熙雅（宇田）和罗忆诗。为期两天的试音活动共有6位评审严格评选，可谓慎重其事！

 

同样是首次担任经典评审的傅熙雅（宇田）表示，尽管有些参赛者表现得很紧张，但他们都尽力展现自己，并且感受到这个舞台是他们突破自我的机会。她说：“有的参赛者说他们等了21年才达到参赛年龄，还有的分享说他们克服了病魔的困扰后立刻报名参赛，大家勇敢而积极地面对挑战的态度感染了我！”她表示从参赛者们的准备和表现中，她真切地感受到大家对舞台的重视和尊重。
