[Travel] Taiwan Pavilion Drew Attention at MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur 2026 with More Than 10,000 Visitors Projected

Director-General Chen Yu-Hsiu Led Taiwan Tourism Presence as Pavilion Took Over Booth 3J25 at MITEC

KUALA LUMPUR, September 2026 — Taiwan strengthened its tourism presence in Malaysia during MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur 2026, where its Taiwan Pavilion was projected to welcome more than 10,000 visitors throughout the three-day travel fair.

According to information released by the Taiwan Tourism Administration under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC), the pavilion was expected to generate active travel enquiries as well as sales of Taiwan travel products during the exhibition.

Taiwan Pavilion Projected to Welcome More Than 10,000 Visitors

MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur 2026 was held from 4 to 6 September at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC), with the exhibition running from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM daily.

Visitors interested in Taiwan travel information were able to visit the Taiwan Pavilion at Booth 3J25, Level 3.

With more than 10,000 visitors projected over the three days, the pavilion served as a major touchpoint for Malaysian consumers exploring Taiwan travel options and engaging directly with tourism representatives at the fair.

The Tourism Administration had also anticipated that the strong footfall would translate into travel enquiries and on-site product sales, giving tourism partners an opportunity to engage directly with Malaysian travellers during one of the country’s largest travel exhibitions.

Director-General Chen Yu-Hsiu Led Taiwan Tourism Presence in Malaysia

Another notable element of the programme was the senior-level involvement of Taiwan Tourism Administration Director-General Chen Yu-Hsiu, who personally led Taiwan’s tourism delegation to Malaysia for the MATTA Fair programme.

Her presence highlighted the importance placed on Malaysia as an outbound tourism market and on face-to-face engagement with local consumers and industry partners.

Rather than limiting the promotion to destination branding alone, Taiwan’s MATTA Fair participation also created a direct marketplace where visitors could obtain information, compare travel products and make travel-related purchases during the exhibition.
