Kuala Lumpur, 2026 – The much-anticipated Singer 2026 • Malaysia (歌手2026 • 马来西亚篇), jointly created by Astro and Mango TV, officially revealed its first six first-line singers on 9th May 2026.
The press conference took place at RasaNya Steamboat, Pavilion Elite, where members of the media gathered to witness the announcement of the first-line singer lineup.
The six announced singers are Jaclyn Victor, Geraldine Gan, Uriah See, Nicole Lai, Priscilla Abby and Vanessa Reynauld. They will later be joined by two more contestants to form the Top 8 lineup, competing for the ultimate championship. The final champion will represent Malaysia to take part in China’s 《Singer 2026》.
Jaclyn Victor, who is widely regarded as one of the strongest contenders among the lineup, will be returning to a singing competition 23 years after winning the first season of 《Malaysian Idol》. Despite having been in the industry for over two decades, the 47-year-old singer admitted that she still feels nervous when taking part in a competition.

For this programme, Jaclyn has also been learning Mandarin specially. When asked whether she would challenge herself with a Chinese song in the competition, she kept the suspense and said, “It’s a secret.”
Many of the other singers also named Jaclyn as a formidable opponent. Geraldine Gan shared that Jaclyn has always been someone she admires deeply, describing her as the strongest singer in her heart. Priscilla Abby also praised Jaclyn for her impressive vocal power and lung capacity.
However, Jaclyn humbly said that she does not see herself as a “diva”. She believes that in a competition, no one is guaranteed to win, as every singer has their own unique gift. She also pointed out that everyone in the lineup is strong, including Vanessa Reynauld, whom she described as a tough competitor. “You never know what will happen,” she said.
Vanessa Reynauld jokingly described herself as “kiasu”, adding that her biggest rival is actually herself. She also expressed her hope to stand at the peak together with Jaclyn Victor.
As the only male singer among the six first-line singers, Uriah See openly named Priscilla Abby as a strong opponent. He jokingly mentioned that Priscilla had previously taken the championship away from him in 《The Rising Star》. He added that although the “sisters” in the lineup take good care of him, the pressure is definitely real.

Uriah admitted that his voice is relatively lower and deeper, which may make it harder for him to stand out among powerful female vocalists. Because of that, he hopes to break through with his own musical identity. Apart from trying different music styles, he also plans to include violin elements in the competition.
When asked about their “secret weapons”, Geraldine Gan said that she hopes to break away from the label of a “healing singer” through this programme. She wishes to challenge more music genres and present different sides of herself. She also jokingly described herself as the “atmosphere representative”, hoping that through her vocals and overall presentation, audiences can feel as though they have stepped into a music video or short film.
Nicole Lai, on the other hand, quoted director Ang Lee’s famous saying, “Instead of being boring, take risks.” She emphasised that she is ready to break audience expectations and continue challenging herself. Nicole shared that she is able to sing in Mandarin, English, Cantonese and Malay, and that she hopes to showcase more sides of herself through the programme.
She also shared that when she sees audiences genuinely moved to tears by a performance, it reminds her that real emotions truly do exist.
Priscilla Abby said that her biggest strengths are her sense of relaxation and rhythm. She revealed that she always treats every competition performance like a concert instead of a competition, hoping that everyone can enjoy the music together. She has also set a goal for herself — to make every performance different and showcase more musical possibilities.

With six powerful singers now revealed and two more contestants set to join the lineup, Singer 2026 • Malaysia (歌手2026 • 马来西亚篇) is shaping up to be one of the most exciting music competition programmes for Malaysian audiences.

不过，面对“天后”光环，洁奎琳态度依旧谦逊。她表示自己并不认为自己是 “Diva”（天后），也认为比赛中没有任何人可以稳操胜券，因为每位歌手都有属于自己的天赋与优势。她也直言，本季阵容每一位都很强，包括 维莉莎 也绝对不好对付，并表示：“你永远不知道会发生什么。”
维莉莎 则笑称自己其实很 “Kiasu（怕输）”，但她认为最大的竞争对象始终是自己。她也表示，希望最终能与 洁奎琳维特 一同站上高峰，展开精彩较量。
作为6位首发歌手中 唯一的男歌手，徐凯 则直接点名 蔡恩雨 是他的强敌。他开玩笑说，蔡恩雨曾在 《歌手崛起吧！》 中夺走自己的冠军，因此这次再度同场竞技，压力自然不小。他也笑言：“姐姐妹妹们都很疼我是真的，但压力也是真的。”
徐凯坦言，相比多位爆发力十足的女声，他的声线较为低沉，因此更需要依靠鲜明的个人音乐特色突围。除了挑战不同曲风，他也透露将会在节目中加入 小提琴元素，为自己的竞演增添更多层次与亮点。
谈到自己的“杀手锏”，颜慧萍 表示，希望借着这次节目突破大众对她 “治愈系歌手” 的印象。她希望挑战更多音乐类型及呈现方式，也笑称自己是 “氛围感担当”，希望透过声音与整体表现，让观众仿佛置身于MV或微电影情境之中。

赖淞凤 则引用导演李安的名句 “与其boring，不如冒险”，表明自己会勇于跳脱观众对她的既定框架。她指出，自己能够驾驭 中文、英文、广东歌及马来歌，因此也期待在节目中呈现更多元的音乐面貌。
她也分享，过去曾看见观众因为表演而真情流露、感动落泪，让她深刻感受到音乐中真实情感的力量，也让她更相信每一次真诚的表达都能触动人心。
蔡恩雨 则认为，自己的优势在于 松弛感与律动感。她表示，自己会把每一次竞演都当作一场演唱会来看待，而不是单纯的比赛，希望观众也能一起投入并享受音乐。她也为自己设下目标，希望 每一场呈现都能有所不同，让大家看见她更多样化的音乐风格。
