[Movie Review] Killing Season (2013)

Summarized Review:

"Killing Season" is an ambitious movie with a low production budget.
  • It has the combination of Robert De Niro and John Travolta as the main actors.
  • It has a theme of ex-soldiers trying to kill each other inside the woods.
  • Some painful scenes such as penetrating wounds through the face, calf muscles and etc were shown. (filled with blood as well). The visuals make the audience feel the pain suffered by the main characters.

It would be a potential good flick. However, a few factors have stopped it from delivering a spectacular experience:
  • The plot is straight-forward but a bit dull and draggy.
  • The story progresses at an inconsistent pace and has minimal character development and introduction.
  • Lacking of casts in this film. The movie depends SOLELY on the two main actors. Other characters in it are nearly non-existent at all.
  • Repetitive dialogues which aim to deliver some cool conversation but fail to do so due to the uninteresting and messy lines.

What can you expect from the show?
# It feels like a movie of two old man playing trap-setting, hunting and hide-and-seek inside the woods.

Verdict: 4.5/10.0
