Press Conference Coverage:

“It has been our ambition to promote local shows. What better way to start if not by promoting & producing the biggest, not just his size of the stand-up comic icon in Malaysia, the biggest stand-up comedy ever in Malaysia.” said Mr Leonard Chua of AMC LIVE Malaysia Sdn Bhd during the press conference held. The show is titled, “Harith Iskander…To Know Malaysia is to LAUGH MALAYSIA!”, promises to be the biggest night of stand-up comedy in Malaysia.

Joining in the effort of uniting Malaysians through laughter are also big hearted Malaysian corporations that have stepped up to support this event under the LAUGH MALAYSIA Umbrella namely Celcom First, Sime Darby Foundation, Seremban 2, MTT Priority & Evian.

“Children should not be raised in an institution, but in families, the best place in providing them with love, care and nurturing that all children deserved.” mentioned by Pn. Noraini of OrphanCARE during the press conference.

To make the show even more meaningful, a fair amount of profits from ticket sales will be channeled to OrphanCARE, a charitable NGO that strives to provide abandoned children in homes with loving families.

“As my lovely wife and manager, Dr. Jezamine and I are ambassadors of OrphanCARE, we hope that this contribution will go towards ensuring these less fortunate children receive the care and support of loving families hence living up to the NGO’s motto “Every Child Needs a Family””, adds Harith.

Jointly produced by Harith Iskander V Day Productions & AMC Live Group, in partnership with Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia, “Laugh Malaysia” promises a night of rip-roaring laughter to the audience. The concert show will also feature feature new talents in the Malaysian comedy scene as well as other seasoned international comedians.

           

“It’s a great honor for me to be the opening act for Harith Iskander. 8 years ago, I took my first date to a comedy show by Harith Iskander. I was able to get the tickets at student’s price. The show was very memorable and the date went well. The girl is now my wife.” said Dr. Jason Leong as he explained why he is excited to be one of the special guests of the show.

Besides Dr.Jason Leong, one of India’s most influential comedians, Papa CJ will also be one of the special guests for the show too.

“Everytime I do a show, everyone laughed, enjoyed and walked away with a better feeling. So, I was wondering, how can I do something to make Malaysians come together?” said Harith Iskander. This is how he came up with this idea of having a stadium concert.

Introducing new materials to the stage as well as some classic “best of”, Harith, with more than 22 years of experience, aims to bring a new and exciting edge to his performance. The topics will be a mixture of daily observations about what makes Malaysia ‘tick’ told in the indomitable and distinctive Harith Iskander style.

Harith is currently on his international tour covering six countries, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Australia, Hong Kong and South Korea. Harith has successfully flown the Malaysian flag in front of a truly international audiences and he is now ready to bring that back home in front of his own people.

Good news for everyone is, the ticket prices are very affordable. “The ticket is so low that you cannot even see.” joked by Harith as he’s trying to point out the ticket prices via the backdrop at the press conference but it was placed at a low position that all media members couldn’t even see. The cheapest ticket is only priced at RM 38. It is really a great catch considering it is an international standard stand-up comedy concert by The Godfather of Malaysian Comedy!

Q: Why is it called a concert?

A: There will be a mixture of interactive visual as well as some musical elements. This is going to be a surprise for the audiences but thanks for your question, the surprise is gone. (Laughter during the press conference)

“I have also invited some VIPs but I can’t mentioned yet because they haven’t confirm their attendance. (whisper: our Prime Minister)…Siapa tadi yang bagitau?” All of the media members cracked up responding to Harith comedic expression during the press conference.
