Kuala Lumpur, January 2016 – Just happened last weekend was Malaysia very own MET10 Awards, which was filled with electrifying performances from finest local English acts. Our team from wljack.com and loong-updates.blogspot.com was given a golden opportunity to do a coverage on the event and we have enjoyed it very much!

What Is MET10 Awards?

It is a celebration awards to recognize Malaysian English artists who topped the weekly Malaysian English Top 10 (MET10) chart which airs every Sunday from 3pm till 4pm on hitz fm. MET10 was introduced in 2000, followed by its first awards show in 2005.

Teaming up for the first time, co-hosts Jake Abdullah, Jason Lo, Arnold Loh and Ryan Matjeraie took the stage at StarXpo Centre @ KWC Fashion Mall on Saturday (16 January) night for a blazing three-hour show.

Explosive Performances Throughout the Whole Night!

From its explosive opening by possibly Malaysia's most prominent rappers, the Kartel Family crew (Joe Flizzow, Altimet and SonaOne) to pop rock band Paperplane Pursuit and Resh, who both broke into the US charts, to ‘SUPERGIRLS’ De Fam, the MET10 Awards was an evening full of spectacular performances and moving speeches.

The MET10 Awards also featured big names in music and entertainment, with appearances by Liyana Fizi, Moots (Popshuvit), Mookie (One Buck Short), Dangerdisko, Shawn Lee, DJ Leng Yein, Hunny Madu, MaxMan TV and hitz fm clan Ean, Arnold, RD, Alexis, Ryan, Adam Izzy, Sher, Michelle and Juanita.

Sponsored by Tune Talk, the third edition of MET10 Awards was also aired LIVE on hitz fm.

Biggest Winner of the night : De Fam!

Winning the Best Breakthrough Act and Best Song, De Fam was no doubt the biggest winner of the night! One of their goal now is hopefully can have their own concert soon!

MET10 Awards has really showcased to us that there are actually a lot of great music and talents in Malaysia. My personal favourite of the night was the performance by Resh, “Half The Man”. It was really great!

I hope there will be more Malaysian fans who pay more attention to our local music because if they don’t, they might miss out some gems out there!
