[Coverage] Saturday Night Fever The Musical Malaysia 2015

Kuala Lumpur, September 2015- Just a few days ago, our team (wljack.com & loong-updates.blogspot.com) has been given a chance to attend the opening of Saturday Night Fever The Musical Malaysia 2015 in Istana Budaya and it was a great show!

Saturday Night Fever, The All-Time Bee Gee’s Smash Hit Musical!
It’s been a great pleasure to revisit some of the best smash hits of all time from Bee Gees, like Stayin’ Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, Night Fever and etc. This show consists of a perfect concert with groovy combination of disco choreography, glittering costumes and retro hairstyles. We were being brought back to the retro 70’s disco era and it’s a really fun show!

Seasoned Performers Kept The Heat Up!
The show features Brandon Rubendall as Tony Manero, Jenna Rubaii as Stephanie Mangano and Nick Varricchio as Double J plus the rest of the casts who were very experienced in Broadway stage. The casts have drawn the audiences closer into the show with their spectacular performances. Other than being able to act, their good singing and dancing kept the audiences well-entertained.

Disco Dance Makes You Wanna Move!
The choreography of the dances in the show was marvelous. Some of the dances especially during the Dance Competition Scene was indeed memorable. The fantastic dancing and music have provided the vibes for the audience to want to dance along.

Love Is In The Air!
While the show mainly focused on the ambition of one man who wanted to become a disco king, it is not lacking of romantic interactions between the two main characters Tony and Stephanie. The scenes between these two characters can be quite funny at times. I am sure most of the audiences were laughing in joy seeing how Tony asked Stephanie for a coffee date.

Either way, you can also feel the Love between the two of them especially during the last scene at the park whereby “How Deep Is Your Love” was performed!

Outstanding Scenes Setting And Lighting!
Apart from having great casts and great choreography, the backdrop scene setting and lighting of the show was great. Transition between each scenes were very fast and almost seamless thanks to these two great elements.

During the disco scenes, you can feel like as though you are in a real retro disco because of the wonderful scenic settings and lighting of the show.

A Must Watch For Bee Gees Fans!
Thanks to the great directing from world class director Bobby Garcia, the Saturday Night Fever was brought to LIVE on stage in a great musical concert. For those who are fans of Bee Gee’s Music, this is a show that you should never miss!

The show will be running from the 4th September 2015 till 13th September 2015!
Do check out the show before it’s too late.
