who is waiting for a chance to shine? Now, here’s a great opportunity for you! Astro “Battleground
2014” will be taking dance to another level by holding its first and
largest ever outdoor event this year, “Street
Dance Festival” together with the walk-in-audition for all dancers from different
walks of life to take over the stage and show off their dance moves!
On the 8th March, besides the audition, there will be a “Street Dance Festival” from 10am to 6pm
at Paradigm Mall, The Boulevard by over 11 dance studios presenting a variety
of dances to hype up the atmosphere.

Besides, the scheduled appearance and rocking performances
of former contestants such as Fix, D’
Swag, School Brotherz, Touble Queenz and The Survivor will definitely pump up the crowd!
The amazing line-ups of international judges for this
year will also be announced then. Unlike previous years, “Battleground 2014” will
see professional judges from all over Asia, from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong
Kong and Philippines. It has also been confirmed that, five of the professional
judges with international accreditation will be here to officiate the Street
Dance Festival and audition, besides sharing their experiences.
The purpose of the audition is to search for the next dance champion who has to be 15
years old and above, regardless of nationality, age, race and dance styles or
genres, to take up the challenge as a solo dancer or as a group. Thus,
dance enthusiasts should seize this opportunity to be crowned the next champion
for the first time in “Battleground” history; the champion and first runner up will
compete with other top Asian dancers. The stakes has been raised for
“Battleground 2014” as the winner will represent Astro and Malaysia to compete
in the Asian arena – Asia Battleground.
There will be a 2-days audition that will be held for on 8th
and 9th of March. The Top 50 finalists that outshine the rest will qualify for
Astro’s “Battleground 2014”, with the ultimate goal of competing in the “Asia
Battleground”! To prepare our finalists for the Asian stage, they will be flown
to Japan for professional training under renowned Japanese instructors.

Other Criteria :

Enrolment would be mainly focused on solo
basis, after selection and reshuffle; contestants will enter the competition as
a street dance team.

Team auditions are allowed, will consider
whether or allocated based on individual ability.

Contestants are not to be bound to any
contract or agency during competition
·
Contestants are required to attend all
recording and training during competition
Successful candidates will unleash their potential and
creativity throughout a flash mob, sharing the passion of dancing with the
crowd.
